Alright, snow tires give a significant advantage on snow and ice, but they’re not for everyone. Number one is the cost, because you have to buy four of them. You don’t buy two, because you have to have both ends of the car working together. Second is your driving ability. See, the tires are not going to make you a better driver. You have to be a good driver in the first place in order to take advantage of the better traction and everything that the snow tires will actually provide. If you’re a very good driver and you don’t mind buying four tires and you don’t mind changing between seasons, then snow tires might be the answer, but for the average driver, your all-season tires are probably going to work as well as you are capable.
